Italy’s Riccardo Filippelli beat Great Britain’s Ben Llewellin in a nerve wrecking duel to decide the winner of the Men’s Skeet at the ISSF World Cup Final in New Delhi.

The 37-year-old Filippelli also bettered his own World Record along with Great Britain’s Ben Llewellin after both the shooters crushed 59/60 targets.

In a shoot-off to decide the winner, Llewellin missed his second target, a costly mistake that Filippelli quickly exploited, winning the gold.

“I love this range, it’s very beautiful and you can see the targets quite clearly,” said Filippelli, who had also won the gold at the season’s first World Cup at the same venue, where he had set the previous World Record with 57 hits.

Federico Gil of Argentina won the bronze, adding another achievement to the first World Cup gold of his career, won in Larnaka (CYP) last May. Gil only missed one of his 50 targets, taking the bronze because of a lower bib number compared to Filippelli and Llewellin.
