The ISSF World Cup Final in Shotgun kicked off today in Rome, Italy. A total of 57 shooters from 26 nations will be seen in action over the next five days.

To qualify for the Shotgun World Cup Final, shooters had to earn points all along the 2016 ISSF World Cup Series, which took place in Nicosia (CYP), Rio de Janeiro (BRA), San Marino (SMR) and Baku (AZE).

Also qualified for the competition are the Rio 2016 Olympic Games medal winners and the holders of the 2015 ISSF World Cup Final titles.

Among the participants, Italy’s 46-year-old four-time Olympic medallist in men’s trap Giovanni Pellielo will shoot on his home turf, along with Skeet Olympic Champions Diana Bacosi and Gabriele Rossetti.

Women’s trap Olympic gold medallist Catherine Skinner of Australia will also aim at the seasonal title, also competing with his own teammate Emma Elizabeth Cox, gold medallist at this year’s World Cup stage in San Marino.
