Topgun shooter Paarth Makhija won a silver medal in the junior men’s 10m air rifle team at the ongoing ISSF Junior World Cup in Suhl, Germany.
The 17-year-old, Paarth, teamed up with reigning Junior World Champion Hriday Hazarika and Yash Vardhan for a score of 1877.4, missing the gold by just 0.4 point to China, which equaled the junior world record of 1877.8.
The bronze was won by Hungary with 1887.1.
Paarth, who has been trained by the Topgun Shooting Academy, had earlier won a bronze in the 1st Khelo India Youth Games in 2018.
“I introduced Paarth to our sport in 2012 when he was only 10-year-old. He had a fascination for guns even back then and use to train very seriously at our academy” said former India shooter Shimon Sharif who runs the Topgun Shooting Academy.
