Abhinav Bindra’s fourth-place finish at Rio Olympics has seen him rise to World No. 5 spot in the Men’s 10m Air Rifle, according to the ISSF world rankings released on Saturday.

Bindra who retained his ranking of last month is currently the highest ranked Indian shooter in the World.

The next closest Indian shooter to Bindra is Jitu Rai who ranks 6th in the Men’s 10m Air Pistol and No. 7 in 50m Pistol. Jitu had finished 8th after qualifying for finals in the 10m Air pistol but was not able to make the cut for the finals in the 50m Pistol.

The only other two Indian shooters in top ten are Gupreet Singh (10th) in Men’s 25m Rapid Fire and Mairaj Khan (10th) in Men’s Skeet. At the Rio Games, both of them had come very close to making it to the finals in their respective events.
