Bindra was just 13 when he went to train under former shooter Col Jagir Singh Dhillon, who remembers Bindra as a short-tempered but shy and dedicated teenager. The coach says Bindra gradually learnt to hold his nerves and came out as an immaculate finisher.
Once Bindra started shooting high scores he was sent abroad to train with the best in the business.
