    Rio Olympic quota winner Apurvi Chandela has been busy participating in back-to-back shooting competitions in Europe as a part of her Olympic preparations.

    Apurvi shot her personal best qualification score of 420.9 in Women’s 10m Air Rifle at the International Shooting Competition in Munich.

    She shot the highest qualification score but the competition in finals was so high, that even after shooting only one shot which was less than a 10 she finished fourth with a score of 164.6.

    In the second match of the same competition, Apurvi finished 9th with a score of 418.0 (104.7, 105.1, 104.9, 103.3) missing the finals by only 0.2 points.

    Apurvi leaves for Amsterdam on Wednesday and then to the Hague city where she will participate in the triple matches. After the two competitions, she will be flying back to India to represent India at the South Asian Games at Guwahati in Assam.

    Apurvi had shot 185.6 (418.4) in Women’s 10m Air Rifle to win the bronze with Olympic quota at the ISSF World Cup in Changwon last year.

    Women’s 10m Air Rifle 1st Match: Nikola Mazurova (CZE) 209.0 (417.8); 2. Stine Nielsen (DEN) 208.8 (416.6); 3. Laura Ilie (ROU) 185.3; 4. Apurvi Chandela 164.6 (420.9).

    Women’s 10m Air Rifle 2nd Match: 1. Snjezana Pejcic (CRO) 209.6 (418.5); 2. Andrea Arsovic (SRB) 208.0 (420.3); 3. Astrid Steffensen (DEN) 187.2 (420.2); 9. Apurvi Chandela (418.0).
