    Asian Airgun: Manu Bhaker & Saurabh Chaudhary win gold with world record in junior mixed air pistol

    Teenage shooting stars Manu Bhaker and Saurabh Chaudhary combined to clinch the gold medal with a junior world record in the junior mixed 10m air pistol at the 11th Asian Airgun Championship which concluded in Kuwait on Friday.

    The Indian pair of Manu and Saurabh, who shot a qualification score of 762/800, dominated the final and won the gold with a world record score of 485.4.

    The Chinese pair of Wang Keyi and Xie Yu won the silver with 477.9 while a second Chinese pair of Wang Xiaoyu and Hong Shuqi took the bronze with 413.5.

    India second pair of Abhidnya Patil and Anmol Jain shot the third best qualification score of 760 but finished 4th with 372.1 in the final.

    This was Saurabh third gold in two days, having won the individual and team gold on Thursday, while Manu bagged the team silver.

    India thus ended the championship with a tally of 11 medals, including 4 gold.
