    Indian shooters struggle to make impact at Asian Airgun

    9th Asian Airgun Shooting ChampionshipIndian shooters struggled to make an impact while the Chinese shooters dominated after the first two days of the 9th Asian Airgun Championship in Tehran, Iran.

    Indian shooters could not win an individual medal in any of the six rifle events but managed to win two team silver medals in the men’s and women’s event while the youth men’s team bagged the bronze.

    Shriyanka Sadangi and Satyendra Singh with a 5th place finish in the Women’s and Men’s 10m Air Rifle events were best among the Indians.

    Shriyanka shot 414.2 and followed it with a 142.5 in the finals. The other two shooters in the event, Anjum Moudgil finished 6th while experienced Suma Shirur finished 7th.

    Satyendra Singh shot 622.2 in the qualification and 142.1 in the finals, while Akhil Sheoran shot 621.3 and missed the final by 0.1 point.

    The competition will continue with the pistol events over the next two days.
