Former World No. 1 Heena Sidhu missed the Women’s 10m Air Pistol final by two points at the ISSF World Cup in Munich that concluded on Tuesday.
The 27-year-old had a series of 93, 96, 97 and 96, as she placed 18th among 103 shooters. Yashaswini Singh Deswal also did well to shoot 381 (96,94,94,97) to finish 21st while Harveen Srao shot 373 (94,93,92,94) to finish 68th.
The gold in the event was won by Greece’s 21-year-old shooting star Anna Korakaki who had won a sports pistol gold and an air pistol bronze at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
2004 Athens Olympic gold medallist Olena Kostevych of Ukraine won the silver while China’s Lin Yuemei claimed the bronze.
In the Men’s 50m Rifle Three Position, Olympian Chain Singh was the best among the Indians as he shot a score of 1163 (Kneeling 386, Prone 394, Standing 383) to finish 44th.
Satyendra Singh shot 1161 (Kneeling 388, Prone 390, Standing 383) and Sanjeev Rajput shot 1148 (Kneeling 377, Prone 394, Standing 377) to finish 57th and 69th respectively among the 70 who had made the cut after the elimination round.
Surendra Singh Rathod had shot a day earlier in the MQS section and gathered an impressive score of 1173.
2016 Rio Olympic bronze medallist Alexis Raynaud of France claimed the gold in the event.
2016 Rio Olympic silver medallist Sergey Kamenskiy of Russia won the silver, pocketing his second World Cup medal in Munich after the air rifle gold won four days ago. The 29-year-old also equalled the Qualification World Record with 1186 points. It’s Kamenskiy second world record in Munich after the one he set in air rifle final on Friday.
China’s Liu Yukun completed the podium in third place.
