    KSS: Akhil Sheoran wins Gold in Men’s 50m Rifle Prone

    World Cup gold medallist Akhil Sheoran of Railways took the spot of the podium in Men 50m Rifle Prone at the ongoing 20th Kumar Surendra Singh Memorial Shooting Competition in New Delhi.

    The 26-year-old Akhil, who won the bronze in 50m Rifle Three Positions Mixed Team at the ISSF World Cup in Cairo, Egypt earlier this year, shot 623.7 to finish way ahead of the field.

    Army Zahid Hussain Parry won the silver with 620.9 while Pavan Kumar Vaishnav of CISF took the bronze with 620.8.

    Akhil also claimed the team gold for Railways along with his teammates Subhankar Pramanick and Partha Ghosh with a score of 1843.9. Madhya Pradesh won the silver with 1837.1 while BSF took the bronze with 1833.6.

    Promising shooter Surya Pratap Singh Banshtu of Himachal Pradesh won the junior men’s title with a score of 616.9. Shivam Dabas of Delhi finished second with 609.8 while Vedant Waghmare of Maharashtra took the bronze with 609.6.
