India’s Naresh Sharma shot 600.2 (97.8,100.9,99.8,102.4,99.0,100.3) to finish 15th in Men’s 10m Air Rifle Standing SH1 at the IPC Shooting World Cup in Sydney, Australia.
The only other Indian in the event, Deepak Kumar finished 16th with a score of 597.2 (101.9,96.8,101.3,100.3,97.3,99.6).
Looking at the performances of the two, India could have easily won a medal in the team event but since there was no third Indian in the event so a team could not be formed.
Korea’s Jinho Park won the gold in this event. He also shot today’s highest qualification score of 627.7 (105.0,105.9,105.2,104.2,103.0,104.4). The silver was won by Sultan Abdulla Alaryani of UAE while China’s Gou Dingchao took the bronze.
In the team event, Korea won the gold with 1833.3 points, silver was won by United Arab Emirates with 1830.6 while Brazil won the bronze with 1775.3.
