Yash Vardhan of Rajasthan won both the men’s and youth men’s 10m air rifle (T7) events at the ongoing National Selection Trials being held at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range in New Delhi.
The 16-year-old Yash shot 250.4 to beat the qualification topper Sandeep Singh (630.6) of Army by 0.3 point.
Another Army shooter Pankaj Kumar finished third ahead of Asian Games silver medallist Deepak Kumar of Air Force.
Yesterday’s winner of Trails (T6) Dhanush Srikanth of Telangana finished sixth in the men’s event while Tokyo Olympic quota winner Divyansh Singh Panwar of Rajasthan missed the final by 1.6 point and finished 11th.
However, Divyansh clinched the top spot after beating Dhanush by 1.6 point in the junior event. Srinjoy Datta of West Bengal, who topped the qualification with 629.4, took the third place. Yash was placed sixth in the juniors.
In the youth event, Yash was once again bang on target as he shot 250.7 to top the final with a margin of 0.4 point. Dhanush took the second spot while Srinjoy came third. Divyansh opted out of the final.
