    NRAI announces 32-member core group to train for Tokyo Olympics

    The NRAI has announced a 32-member core group of shooters to train for Tokyo Olympics.

    Every event, apart from the men’s 25m rapid fire, has four shooters including the Olympic quota winners.

    Anish Bhanwala and Vijayveer Sidhu have been selected for training in rapid fire even though India has not won a quota in the event as yet. However there is still hope of getting the quota on the basis of world rankings.

    Manu Bhaker and Anjum Moudgil are the only ones who have been included in two events as both are equally good in their respective events.

    The NRAI is scheduled to release the training program soon for the core group.

    The Core Group:

    Women’s 10m Air Rifle: Anjum Moudgil, Apurvi Chandela, Elavenil Valarivan, Shreya Agarwal.
    Women’s 10m Air Pistol: Manu Bhaker, Yashaswini Singh Deswal, Annu Raj Singh, Esha Singh.
    Women’s 50m Rifle Three Positions: Anjum Moudgil, Tejaswini Sawant, Gaayathri NIthyanandam, Sunidhi Chauhan.
    Women’s 25m Pistol: Rahi Sarnobat, Chinki Yadav, Manu Bhaker, Abhidnya Patil.
    Men’s 10m Air Rifle: Deepak Kumar, Divyansh Singh Panwar, Pankaj Singh, Sandeep Singh.
    Men’s 10m Air Pistol: Saurabh Chaudhary, Abhishek Verma, Om Prakash Mitharwal, Shahzar Rizvi.
    Men’s 50m Rifle Three Positions: Aishwar Pratap Singh Tomar, Sanjeev Rajput, Parul Kumar, Swapnil Kusale.
    Men’s 25m Rapid Fire Pistol: Anish Bhanwala, Vijayveer Singh Sidhu.
    Men’s Skeet: Angad Vir Singh Bajwa, Mairaj Ahmad Khan, Gurjoat Singh, Sheeraz Sheikh.
