India’s Rashmee Rathore finished 30th in Women’s Skeet at the ISSF World Cup in Nicosia, Cyprus.
The 34-year-old from Secunderabad shot a score of 65 (20,23,22) and fell short of 4 hits to make the cut for finals.
Saniya Sheikh who had won a bronze in the 2008 Asian Shotgun Championship in Jaipur opened her qualification round with a 24 but could only manage 21 and 20 in the next two rounds to finish 31st with a total score of 65.
The third Indian in the event, Maheshwari Chauhan shot 59 (20,20,19) to finish 44th in a field of 47 shooters.
The gold medal in the event was won by current World Champion Morgan Craft of USA.
The 23-year-old Craft is considered the best women’s skeet shooter in the world. In 2015, she pocketed two World Cup medals in Larnaca (bronze) and Gabala (silver), became the World Champion in Lonato and a bronze in World Cup Final in Nicosia. Her sights are now clearly set on Rio Olympics.
The silver was on by Cyprus’ Andri Eleftheriou while 16-year old Katharina Monika Jacob of USA took the bronze.
