The 37th North Zone Shooting Championship will be held as scheduled from 1st to 9th November 2017 at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range in New Delhi.
In a letter dated 25.10.2017, the Sports Authority of India (SAI) had earlier communicated to Delhi State Rifle Association (DSRA) that the range will not be available for conducting the competition, citing technical reasons and also suggesting the organisers to reschedule the competition anytime after the first week of January 2018.
The news came as a rude shock to the shooting fraternity just six days before the start of this very important competition which also serves as a qualifier for the National Championship to be held in December.
Ever since that announcement by SAI, there has been a lot of speculation and uncertainty over the fate of the competition in which around 4,000 shooters from North India are expected to participate.
SAI however reversed their decision today and have allowed DSRA to conduct the North Zone Shooting Championship as scheduled earlier.
