The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI), in its governing body meeting last week, has decided that all state shooting championships should be conducted before February-end next year.
The dates for Zonal and National Championships will be announced after NRAI gets a schedule of the state championships from its affiliated units.
A letter posted on the NRAI website on October 23 stated, The Governing Body of the NRAI, in its emergent meeting held on 22 October 2020 has decided that: (1) All affiliated units will submit schedule to hold their state championships to NRAI and are required to conduct championships latest by 28 February 2021 and (2) On receipt of the schedule of State Championships, the NRAI shall schedule the dates for conduct of Zonal Championship/NSCC.ÔÇØ
The letter further stated: The 30 AIGVMSC in R/P and shotgun will not be conducted prior to 64 NSCC.ÔÇØ
Usually the Nationals happen in December but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, NRAI has postponed its Nationals to next year. The decision comes as a big relief especially for the new shooters who are looking forward to making the cut for their first Nationals.
