Yashaswini Singh Deswal won the silver in Junior Women’s 10m Air Pistol on the second day of the 3rd ISSF Junior World Cup in Suhl, Germany, on Monday.

Yashaswini shot a modest 374 in the qualification to eventually take the silver 3.3 points behind Anna Korakaki of Greece, who had topped qualification with 386.

Commonwealth Games silver medallist Malaika Goel (378) also made the final but finished seventh. However, the trio of Yashaswini, Malaika and Gauri Sheoran managed to win the silver, seven points behind Germany.

The Indian junior boys team of Gaurav Rana, Hemendra Kushwah and Arjun Das won the bronze behind Italy and Russia. Gaurav Rana made the final with a total of 572, and ended up eighth. Rushiraj Barot finished 44th with 556.

Gaayathri Nithyanandam who had bagged the bronze in rifle prone, missed the bronze in the three positions event by 1.2 point to Olga Efimova of Russia.

The Indian team took its overall tally to three gold, two silver and two bronze medals.
