Topgun shooters Visnu Shivaraj Pandian and Paarth Makhija gave an impressive performance in 10m air rifle at the ongoing 63rd National Shooting Championship in Bhopal.

The 15-year-old Visnu shot the third best qualification score of 628.9, which was more than the qualification scores shot by the two Olympic quota winners Divyansh Singh Panwar (628.6) and Deepak Kumar (628.1).

Unfortunately Visnu was not eligible for the finals as he was competing in the category for foreign nationals.

Had Visnu’s score been considered for the medal round, he would have not only won the sub youth gold with a huge margin of 5 points but also made it to the finals in all three categories senior, junior and youth.

The 17-year-old Paarth, who has also been trained by the Topgun Shooting Academy, shot a qualification score of 627.0 and claimed the youth bronze in a field of 799 shooters.
