    Mehuli Ghosh shoots more than World Record in Women’s 10m Air Rifle

    Mehuli Ghosh shot an unbelievable qualification score of 637.0 on her way to win the gold in women’s 10m air rifle at the ongoing Khelo India University Games in New Delhi.

    22-year-old Mehuli’s score ids 1.7 better than the existing world record of 635.3 which was set by Alison Weisz of USA during the CAT in Lima, Peru in November 2022.

    Although Mehuli’s record will not be be ratified as the ISSF considers only a select bunch of international competitions for that purpose, but it was an absolute delight for the auidence at Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range.

    Mehuli had a slow start in the final but managed to bounce back to clinch the gold with the narrowest possible margin of 0.1 point ahead of Narmada Nithin (251.5) 629.1. Yukthi Rajendra 227.9 (631.2) took the bronze.

    Mehuli also bagged gold in the team event alongside Swarnali Roy and Arnisha Chowdhury.
