Ravi Kumar came up with an impressive performance to win bronze medal in Men’s 10m Air Rifle at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia.

The 29-year-old Ravi had a poor start in the finals and was placed 8th after the first-ten shots. Ravi then found his rhythm and shot a few high 10s which included a 10.8, 10.9 and 10.8 on his 12th, 13th and 14th shot. After the 16th shot, Ravi was leading with 0.5 point but eventually lost the lead and took the bronze.

Deepak Kumar, who qualified for the finals equaling the CWG qualification record of 627.2, shot 162.3 in the finals to finish 6th.

Australia’s Dane Sampson won gold with a GWG record of 245.0 while Abdullah Hel Baki of Bangladesh took silver with 244.7.

Ravi, who had won a bronze at last month’s ISSF World Cup in Mexico, shot the second best qualification score of 626.8.

Saniya Sheikh finishes 4th in Women’s Skeet

In Women’s Skeet, Saniya Sheikh finished a commendable 4th with 32 hits in the finals while Maheshwari Chauhan finished 8th with a qualification score of 68.

Andri Eleftheriou of Cyprus shot 52 to win gold with a Games record. The silver was won by Amber Hill of England with 49 while Panagiota Andreou of Cyprus, who shot a qualification Games record of 74, took the bronze with 40 hits.
