    National Shooting: Bhavesh Shekhawat wins Gold, Vijay Kumar finishes fourth in Men’s 25m Rapid Fire Pistol

    Bhavesh Shekhawat of Rajasthan won his first national title in Men’s 25m Rapid Fire Pistol at the ongoing 64th National Shooting Championship (Pistol), even as Olympic silver-medallist comeback-man Vijay Kumar of Himachal Pradesh finished fourth in New Delhi.

    Bhavesh, a long-time performer in the national circuit and who has also represented India, finally broke through on the day overcoming a quality field with a score of 33 (579) to claim the gold.

    Olympian Gurpreet Singh of Army won the silver with 29 (579) while qualification topper Anish Bhanwala of Haryana took the bronze with 22 (581).

    Vijay, returning to competitive shooting after a gap of five years, bowed out in fourth position with 17 hits.

    Anish, however claimed the junior title with 34 (581), four points ahead of state-mate Adarsh Singh 30 (572) while the bronze was won by Vijayveer Sidhu of Punjab with 24 (579).
