    National Shooting: Saurabh Chaudhary wins Gold in 50m Pistol

    Participating in the Men’s 50m Pistol for the very first time, teenage shooting sensation Saurabh Chaudhary won gold at the ongoing 64th National Shooting Championship (Pistol) in New Delhi.

    The 19-year-old Saurabh of Uttar Pradesh, who is one of world’s best in 10m Air Pistol, shot 564 to beat Army Ravinder Singh by five points for the gold. Pardeep Kumar of Army took the bronze with 555.

    Asian Games gold medallist Jitu Rai, who also holds the national record in the event at 568, finished 13th with 550.

    Saurabh also won the gold in junior men’s 50m Pistol with a junior national record of 564. Delhi shooters Hash Gupta (555) and Shaurya Sarin (548) won the silver and bronze respectively.
